Izo was captured and subsequently crucified in 1865, however, he currently returns to Tokyo, where he roams the streets since he is homeless. Nevertheless, he soon transforms into a killing machine, seeking revenge for his past, in order for his soul to finally rest.
Izo is Miike's own ode to violence, since it does not incorporate any kind of plot, just the main character passing through levels of hell, spreading havoc. The desecrating camera follows the samurai killing indiscriminately, warriors, bodyguards, politicians, the elderly, prostitutes, mothers, female teachers, even kids. In the short intervals between the murders, an insidious guitar player gives some intricate solos that actually intensify the violence.

Executive Coala (Minoru Kawasaki, 2005)
This particular film is another preposterous story from a filmmaker that excels in that field, since his filmography includes titles like The Calamari Wrestler and Kabuto- O Beetle.
Keichi Tamura is an executive in a food company that specializes in pickles. He is a model employee; however, he has three issues: He is tormented by memory loss and from the mysterious disappearance of his wife and lastly, he is actually a koala. Nevertheless, this last fact does not seem alienate anyone in a company, whose president is actually a rabbit.
Tamura's life seems to proceed calmly until another dissapearance, this time his girlfriend's, turn the attention of the police towards him, particularly when the body of the girl is found stabbed to death. His forgotten past gradually surfaces and a general suspicion arises, that maybe Tamura is not the kind Koala everyone knows and love.
