Patty Hearst was kidnapped February ,4th,1974 (19 at the time) by the symbionese liberation army(SLA) . The SLA did many big crimes such as robbing banks,two murders and other crimes. Patty hearst was with the SLA for a year and seven months. Patty Hearst eventually started to help out the symbionese liberation army in all of their acts of crime.people reacted to it differently. Some said it was completely her fault and others say she had stockholm syndrome. Stockholm syndrome is a feeling of trust or affected when being kidnapped. Others state that she was brainwashed into helping the SLA. Patty hearst was born february 20th 1954 in Los Angeles ,California

One f the robberies was held on April 15th when patty and two others storm in a bank and demand money . Patty and the others left with $10,692. Patty later stated that she was not brainwashed and she chose to stay in the SLA liberation army. About a month later Patty did another at mel’s sporting goods store. The store employees later state that SLA member William Harris, along with his wife Emily were trying to shoplift a rifle case,shortly after the employees heard shots go off outside by a van across the street , the shooter was believed to be Patty Hearst. Police later raided a SLA hideout and were shot at by heavily armed SLA members but eventually the SLA embers were killed, Patty was not in the raid. Over a year later Patty Hearst is finally captured on september 18th 1975 from her apartment in outer san francisco . Patty´s mother stated that Pattyś criminal actions weren't that serious and she should not serve any jail time. Ms Hearst's 30-year sentence for bank robbery was eventually cut to seven years, then two, after President Clinton pardoned her.
