Plato’s main principle is find truth and finding the final and best truth. He believed that this is how we should live in a constant state of searching for this end. If I was a platonic I would obtain this by being curious and asking questions along with finding mentors and teachers that will educate you. I think this is something that I have been doing most of my life looking and searching for truth but it has always been looked at as a bad thing. He also believes that we should talk to people and try to learn as much as we can from them. He believes that the fulfillment of the bodies’ basic needs is very important but beyond that the body is deceiving you. This would change my life by making it so I would put my intellect before my feeling and outward thought which would change the way I think about the world. Also because of being a strict dualist money would be looked as something that wasn’t as nearly as important as finding the truth would be. He also believes that people should always be searching for the truth a lot like Plato, he also believes that education is very important. Although it is important it can lead you astray so you have to find people that really are trustworthy to not lead you astray. Along with that he believes that we should have friends that bring us closer to God. This means that someone can lead you completely astray but if you find the right people then can build you up. Also it’s important to ask questions and seek answers instead of letting them overtake you. Something that Augustine misses here is that even though yes sometimes people can lead you astray if you really have a deep rooted faith that it shouldn’t be that easy to break. If I lived my life this way I don’t think I would have been able to get all my questions answered due to a lot of religious people and even non-religious people having very large bias in their thinking. That’s why I think it is important to look at not just one person’s point of view because we all have certain lapses in our knowledge and one person might have a different take that is able to open up your mind to understanding something you would have never figured out on your
