This is imperative to the safety and well being of its customers. Kantian ethics states that all cases must be treated alike. This relates to the company because in the case of a criminal act the company must recognize that they hadn’t screened properly for criminals when hiring. When considering the ethical obligations the company has it is important to think of the number of employees. When looking into the growth it was stated “The startup has more than 2,000 couriers in its multiple markets, and is onboarding about 200 new couriers each week.” (Lawler) When considering that the company must remain consistent on its rules and regulations such as screenings and oversight the number of employees is a large factor. For the company to remain successful the employees must be consistently screened. The criminal screening helps to insure that the large number of employees the company is responsible for are safe to the public. Not only does the company have an ethical obligation relative of Kantian ethics, but so do the couriers. An article from INFOR journal states, “Couriers, in addition to meeting an uncertain demand, sporadically receive tightly constrained requests” (26). This example shows that the employees have a demand to be met as well as difficult requests. While this is part of their job they must still abide by the ethical obligation to remain equally beneficial and consistent. This applies to the business post mates because they must remain objective and consistent to insure that all of the growing number of employees follows the rules when delivering under pressure of time
