The creation of this system went on to be one of the most lasting contributions to political thought, but at the time of its creation, there was a lot of fighting over it. The person that led the charge to create a political party was Thomas Jefferson. Ellis says that during this time James Madison claimed that he wasn’t converting to the Republican camp but he did it despite saying he wasn’t. He went from the leader of the ultra-nationalists at the constitutional convention to the leader of the opposition that challenged the legitimacy of everything. George Washington had a vision for the United States of America that seems to be unattainable. In his Farewell Address, he gave a strong warning to the nation: don’t create political parties, and don’t create alliances with other nations. While Washington had good intentions, there was little possibility of his warnings being heeded. Although most people like to believe driving while using a handheld device should not be illegal, it is actually true that driving while using an handheld device should be illegal. Allowing people to drive around while using their handheld cellphones while on the road would not be safe. People would abuse this option and use their phone while on the road. Car accident rates would increase and many lives would be lost, or effected. Enforcing this law will, too some extent, force people to put their full attention on the road.
