Some things that the country club has are things such as swim meets for kids, wine tastings to participate in, it offers different banquet rooms for members to have parties and events in, and many other opportunities for members to interact with other members. The club also offers sports such as swimming, tennis, golf and soon it will offer paddle tennis. All of these activities have highly trained professionals to help members become better at their sport. Something that is not as well developed as it could be is the last line of the mission statement which is, “generates and fosters good will and camaraderie among the members and staff.” This can be seen in the culture of the country club.
This paper will focus on two long-range goals of Harlem Children’s Zone, which are the examples of Harlem Children’s Zone key performance indicators. It will provide a description and discuss how Harlem Children’s Zone utilized them for improvement. It will also present a description of two system processes that contributed to the key performance indicators. Two Long-Range Goals of Harlem Children’s Zone
The mission of James City School District is “Learning for All.” The staff of the school district helped to develop this mission statement after an AdvancEd review process in 2012. The school’s mission statement and vision were targeted in the areas of review because the staff felt
The Boys and Girls Club was started in 1860 in Hartford Connecticut by Mary Goodwin, Alice Goodwin, and Elizabeth Hammersley. Originally the club was known as Boys Club of America and their goal was to keep young boys off the streets and provide them with a more influential place to go. However, it wasn’t until 1990 that girls became involved and the club was renamed the Boys and Girls Club (www.bgca.org). Today, the Boys and Girls Club’s mission is to help boys and girls realize what they are capable of and become accomplished citizens. The program also wants children to be aware of their own importance, impact, helpfulness, and ability as individuals (www.bgcsnv.org).
In 1966, Betty Friedman wrote “The National Organization for Women’s 1966 Statement of Purpose”, a statement calling for “A more equitable division of labor within the family” (Foner 296-297) and arguing that despite the number of college educated women increasing, women were still relegated to the role of housewife and mother. In Betty Friedman’s statement, Friedman says that “true freedom” means having equal opportunity and freedom to choose between being a homemaker and holding a position in social, political, and/or economic life. Friedman’s idea of freedom is different from Ronald Reagan’s who, in his Inaugural Address, claims that freedom in the United States means choosing to limiting the power of the government and focusing on self-rule instead. While Friedman and President Reagan both argue that having freedom in the United States means having the freedom to choose, Friedman and Reagan have different views on the idea of freedom. Betty Friedman wrote
Raise the status of women worldwide. My first time hearing the mission of the Hilton Head Island High School Zonta club, I was a freshman. At that time the only awareness of women’s issues I had were imitations of my mother and her feelings. I knew that something needed to be fixed, globally. However, it wasn’t until we began working on our annual projects that year that I realized just how many “somethings” there were.
The Ripple Effect Rasheed Ogunlaru once said, “some strive to make themselves great. Others help other see and find their own greatness. It’s the latter who really enrich the world we live in.” Change often begins small, seemingly influential. Then, as people watch this small spark start a fire and begin to roar, surrounding communities to decide that a change is necessary, causing a ripple of change.
The organization we chose is called DSC, and it stands for Dignity in Schools Campaign. DSC created certain rules to provide for school to use to help end student push-out, and protect people from discrimination. Push- out is a systemic factor that discourages young people because of racism. We chose DSC because what they have done really affect, influence, and help students.
It has come to my attention that the recent cuts to the funding of public education has led to majority of our staff trying to selling chocolates, Magazine or Garbage bags for their children’s school fundraising but this has unfortunately led to serious complaints as customers and other stakeholders feel that they are not getting full attention from our employees. I believe it is a great cause but customer satisfaction is our top priority so we cannot compromise our quality of work for fundraising activities. I recommend that starting tomorrow everybody can cooperate and focus on work during working hours and move the fundraising activities during lunch hours and break times. According to research done by Harvard, Focusing completely at one
After reflecting on all that you have learned in this course, share what you believe is one current trend in the human services field in meeting the needs of individuals, families, and/or the community. This course has been a revelation for me. In the past eight weeks, I learned many things about running a nonprofit organization, and I am sure I will learn a lot more. There are so many different elements that goes into managing an organization like how to build capacity, funding/budgeting, assessment tools, the role of the board of directors, and past/current trends in the field.
It has been been a goal of mine to attend the United States Naval Academy after visiting Annapolis with my grandparents in 2012. Since visiting the Naval Academy I knew that I wanted to serve America with the utmost honor and integrity. The Naval Academy Summer Seminar would give me the ability to hone my leadership skills and give me valuable experience that I could use as a Navy Midshipman and throughout life. This summer experience is an opportunity of a lifetime because it will allow me to understand and benefit from the mental and physical challenges the academy provides. Challenging myself at the Naval Academy Summer Seminar would be greatly beneficial for me because I will have the confidence and skills to make decisions
Young people feel safe and parents and professionals concur with this view overall. This is due to the action taken by staff to protect young people from risks associated with child sexual exploitation and radicalisation. Young people have significantly reduced the occasions that they go missing from the home, which maximises their safety because staff know where they are and can monitor them. When young people have left the home without authority, staff search for them and follow the agreed missing from care protocols. Staff effectively use the services of the independent advocate whose good rapport with the young people enables informal chats about the reasons why young people go missing.

The banning of corporate partnerships in schools is a big debate between many parents and school officials. Corporate partnerships occur in schools across the country in many different ways to make money. An example of a corporate partnership is when schools contain a lot of ads or signs throughout the halls, because of financial purposes. There are some good opportunities that comes with it, but in contrast, there are also some bad opportunities. Some say the corporate influence on kinds isn’t good for them because of the influence it could have on them, and others say it is good for their kids to see these sponsorships in the real world, at a young age.
In case, you are a dean of a cash crunched school that is facing lots of budget cuts, making seemingly impossible for the administration of the middle school to function properly. At such a time, school administrators can help themselves with the help by organising middle school fundraising. You can be able to organize such an event with the help of the school staff and you can also engage the students of the school to participate or volunteer in such an event that will help you a lot and helps in getting ideas on how to get employed or make your own career from very early days of life. Thus, due to participating in such fundraisers, students in the middle school will be able to reap the benefits of business first hand and will also feel the
