The Great Gatsby, written by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a novel about deadly love. In this case it’s literal. The novel takes place in 1920’s New York; the “Jazz Age”. Where new money meets old money, and the social class barriers although strong, began to slowly fall. The narrator Nick moves next-door to a millionaire who seems like a character in a folk tale, a ghost who everyone knows of but no one knows. This is ironic because it is his party that they all attend every Friday night. Everyone that is someone attends Gatsby’s parties accept for the very person he throws them for; a married woman.
