Jeffrey Dahmer is a notorious killer who confessed to killing 17 men, and dismembering & eating body parts of his victims until he was caught and arrested in his apartment on July 22, 1991. Dahmer was born in 1960 to Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. Lionel was a soft-spoken graduate student from Marquette University which is located in Milwaukee. He was highly into chemistry and tended to get caught up into his work. Joyce has a history of severe clinical depression, and being placed in the seventies with depression, she didn’t get treated the best.
As most serial killers do, he would keep souvenirs from his victims, such as skulls, genitalia, and polaroid pictures. The first time Jeffrey killed someone was shortly after high school graduation, in June of 1978. He picked up hitchhiker Steven Hicks, took him to his parents house, where he lived alone because both of his parents had moved out since they divorced. He got the man drunk, and struck him over the head and strangled him with a barbell when he began to leave. Jeffrey’s second victim was killed in September of 1978.

As a child, his mother and father were always arguing with people and his mother never gave him the attention he needed (This was NOT the reason why he killed people). One horrible thing he experienced in his life is that he got sexually abused by his neighbor when he was 8 years old (Again, this was not the reason he killed people). He was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD), schizotypal personality disorder (StPD), and a psychotic disorder and I think he was never cured (I think the psychotic disorder was the reason he killed people). He also underwent a double hernia at age 4.

Dahmer was finally arrested on July 22, 1991…two years later, Dahmer was killed at the age of 34 by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver (Jeffrey Dahmer Murdered in Prison, 2010).
Edwards eventually escaped Dahmer and led the police to Dahmer’s apartment where the pictures of the mangled bodies and several severed body parts were found in the refrigerator. On January 30th 1992, Dahmer pled not guilty by reason of insanity. Dahmer was found sane and guilty of 15 counts of murder and sentenced to 15 life terms, which totaled 957 years in prison.
