School Shootings "America's high school students are leading a revolution against political complacency and collusion with the NRA. What drives a person to kill someone? What goes through their mind well doing this act of evil? How does someone deal with taking another person’s life? How do you fairly punish someone for this? How do you break the news to the parents that their child is dead? I can only imagine what it must be like to survive this. To be at your place of education and feel so unsafe or so unprotected. No one should be allowed mass killing machines. So soon into the new year and eight school shootings resulting in death or injuries. There has more shootings, but I feel only some seem to be talked about a lot, like Parkland. It is unbelievable to me that there so many shootings with in days of each other. A principal in Texas said if his students walkout then they will be facing a three day suspension. No one walkout at that school. The first amendment says that you have right to peacefully assemble and petition the government. It is the students’ safety on the line so I think they should protest this. Many parents feel like school hours are not the time to protest school shootings. When do you think is the appropriate time to protest? After school parents want their kids home, they have work, and piles of homework. Should they miss a little school now or never given the opportunity to survive to senior year?
