The book, Babbitt (1922), written by Sinclair Lewis, is regarded as one of the greatest pieces of American literature today. It tells the tale of a 46 year old businessman named George F. Babbitt. George Babbitt and his family live in a modern Midwestern fictional city named Zenith. Here, the Babbitt family enjoys all the luxuries of life any American middle class family can attain in the 1920s.
