The person I chose to write my declamation speech was Martin Luther King Jr., the reason behind me choosing him is because I believe that he a great impact in American History. Thanks to him, we are all considered to be equally with one another without caring about what you ethnicity is or by the color of your skin. A brief biography of Martin Luther King Jr, he was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta Georgia and was assassinated on April 4, 1968. Before he was known as the man who ended the unfair treatment between the whites and African Americans in the south he was known as being a Baptist Minister. I believe his most important key accomplishment, was him ending the unfair treatment between the whites and African Americans in the south, thanks to him they created the Civil Rights Act of 1964. …show more content…

The historical event when Martin Luther King Jr delivered his speech was in the south during the time of segregation of African Americans in the south. The overall message of “I Have a Dream” is to reveal to everyone the negative effect and hardships that African Americans had to face due to the racism and it also mention steps that people can take to end it. The reason I chose this speech is because of its main purpose of the speech, which is to earn equal rights between both races to make and help create a better environment where everyone can be in the same place at the same and clearly get along with one another. Overall I really enjoy this speech because if it wasn’t for this speech I believe that racism would still remain until today like how it was present in south but thanks to Martin Luther King Jr, today racism doesn’t really exist and at most we are all treated equally with one another no matter what race we
