This book was awesome and great. It made me change my personality and it made me a better person. The concentration camp was right behind out-with Bruno’s new house,he didn’t really know what it was. The author is John Boyne. His purpose in writing this book was to show what happened in the Holocaust to the Jews, and all the disasters that had happened to them. The purpose of the book was to make us see the tragedy and how close the camps were to the people that were “safe”. The book is about two kids Bruno and Shmuel that become friends even though they are not supposed to be because one of them is a jew and the other is a german and Shmuel is the one that is jewish in a concentration camp,and Bruno is the one who’s dad is a soldier. The book is also about how they become friends together and die together. It made me want to treat people equally and the same way no matter who they are. You should always treat everyone with the same type of respect. In the book THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS, the Jews are treated horribly, by the soldiers. By getting used as slaves,getting yelled at,getting killed,and getting punished. The Jews are put in concentration camps with all other Jews. They are put in concentration camps to work as slaves for the soldiers. No matter who you were if you were a jew,and you did not obey a soldier, you would either get punished, or killed that is how it was back in the day for jews.
