Rationale For this first written task I chose to write a creative piece on “The Great Gatsby” to showcase my understanding of the novel. My written task will be written in the perspective of Mr. George Wilson, a minor character who lives in the Valley of Ashes and becomes important towards the end of the novel. The main idea I have chosen to depict is exploring how a minor character in the novel deals with the events that occur. George Wilson has been a minor character throughout the first two thirds of the book and only begins to play a major role towards the end.
