The book Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is about a 17 year old girl named Juliette Ferrars who has these extraordinary powers that cause her to hurt anyone she touches. Due to these powers, from the start of the book we see Juliette locked in an asylum. This is because Juliette killed a toddler with her own hands, and no one believed her that it was an accident, they think of her as a monster who needs to be stopped. In society today, many people are forced to do stuff they don't actually want to do. Tahereh Mafi says that before writing Shatter me, she just had an idea that a girl was locked in a dark corner and afraid to speak. Throughout the series, we see Juliettes development and we see who she actually becomes. Tahereh Mafi's writing style is very well written as it gives the reader a better understanding of Juliette and her thoughts. We see how Juliette felt isolated and alone her whole life because of her power, and all she ever wanted to do was to be loved. Tahereh Mafi does a great job to emphasize this. Tahereh Mafi lets us see many of the main characters' points of view, and what type of person they actually are. No matter how evil a character is, Tahereh Mafi found a way to make them likable. For example, Aaron Warner in Shatter Me may seem like an evil, unloveable character. But as you
