"By the Time You Read This I'll Be Dead" is a book that explores the theme of suicide, its causes and effects. This novel is thought-provoking, powerful, and emotionally compelling. It is a book that is relevant to many people as it deals with mental health issues that are prevalent in our society. In this essay, I will discuss the different aspects of the novel, including the main theme, setting, characters, point of view, plot, symbols and my overall review.

The rundown house and the small town make her feel trapped and alone. The isolation of the setting makes her feel like there is no escape from her problems, which reinforces her decision to commit suicide.

Daelyn is the main character of the book. She is a teenage girl who has attempted suicide multiple times and is determined to succeed on her next attempt. The dominant antagonist is Daelyn's mind, which constantly tells her that she is worthless and that life is not worth living.
Two secondary characters are Santana and Janna. Santana is a boy who befriends Daelyn at school and tries to help her. Janna is a girl who used to bully Daelyn in middle school and now tries to make amends. Each character moves the plot forward by either contributing to Daelyn's decision to commit suicide or by trying to prevent her from doing so.
Daelyn's character is well-developed and relatable. The author can convey her inner turmoil and the struggles she faces. Santana and Janna provide contrasting perspectives on Daelyn's situation. The major conflicts are Daelyn's internal struggle with her mind and her interactions with Santana and Janna. The resolution of the conflicts occurs when Daelyn realizes that she does not want to die and that there are people who care about her.
The plot is well-structured and keeps the reader engaged. The author effectively builds tension throughout the story, leading up to the climax where Daelyn makes her final decision. The resolution is satisfying and provides closure to the story.
