The Lottery is a short fictional story published in 1948 in the magazine The New Yorker. The story takes place in a small village, and it’s population is about 300. On June 27th a summer day with green grass and flowers blossoming the lottery takes place. Mr.Summers and Mr.Graves are the people that prepare and conduct the lottery. Every year for the lottery, everybody in town gathers in the town square. In the lottery the head of each household draws a piece of a paper from a black box. One piece for each family out of all the papers one of them has a black dot. The family that gets it has to draw again, this time only that family draws each person in the family draws and whoever gets it is the “winner”.The “winner” gets stone as a sacrifice
