This investigation explores the question: What led up to 911 and how did it happen? The history between the US and Al-Qaeda will be investigated. Also an important question is why did Al-Qaeda launch a terrorist attack on the US and what led up to the tension between both sides. The first source that is going to be evaluated is a newspaper article that was written in the event of 911 written by New York Times in 2001. The newspaper article explains the horror of the attack on the World Trade Center in New York. It also explains who is behind this attack and why they might have caused an incident like this.This source is valuable because, it shows the perspective of the Americans during the 911 attack who were the victims. Also this source was written when the event happened and the news reporters who wrote this was there to witness the attack so they could write exactly what they saw during the attack and can give live report around the world telling what happened during 911. However, the limitation of this source is that it’s a newspaper and sometimes newspapers can exaggerate on what happened to make people think a certain way especially if it’s written by an American who got attacked. I mostly chose sources that was written near the time these attacks happened or sources that base their information on primary sources. Since these terrorist attacks from Al-Qaeda didn’t happen from a really long time ago, most of the sources are primary sources meaning that it was created when these events actually happened. This can add more detail to informations you’re trying to talk about and also add more reliability as sometimes many witnesses of the incident will help writing these sources such as a newspaper article or a book. The limitation of these sources are that most sources doesn’t show the full perspective of Al-Qaeda and Bin Laden
