What Makes A Great Sonnet

Sonnets are a beautiful way of organizing and telling and short story. They might look easy to write but they really aren't. They take time to make with so many steps involved. But it wasn't all bad and it was a little worth it because I ended up making a great sonnet. If you ever think about writing a sonnet listen to what I had trouble with.

The first thing of course was trying to think of a good idea. I went through many ideas like love or sports. I even tried making sonnets for them but it didn't work out. Then I went online and found a great idea, to make a sonnet about nightmares. After choosing this idea so many ideas and stories popped into my mind. Figuring out what to write for my sonnet was one of the easy part of making it. It started getting way harder after that.

I found my dilemma and solution quite quickly after finding an idea. Since the topic was about nightmares I thought maybe the sonnet could be about a little girl. She could even be suffering from them. Then it came down to making the solution and how she became happy again. It wasn't the easiest things that i've written. One the hardest thing about the sonnet was the iambic pentameter. It was hard because if you messed up one line you would have to basically remake the line. At first I couldn't get it but I took my time and finally got each line to be in iambic pentameter. Another difficulty I had while making this sonnet was the rhyming. At first I thought it would be easy but it wasn't. Some of the words that I ended with either didn't have a rhyming word or none of the words fit my poem. This made it difficult to write and make the sonnet flow smoothly. I then went online and searched up words that ended up rhyming with the end words of each line. It helped a lot and hopefully each line
