During World War Two, a new type of aircraft was created in order to help destroy the third Reich. This new aircraft was the B-17. The B-17 became America’s instrument to strategic warfare. The B-17 could lay waste to the enemy’s war industry. On the B-17 there were 13 machine guns. It could fly 13,000 miles or more during a single trip.
