Loyalty plays a huge role in the “Book of Ruth” because Ruth was faithful to her mother in law Naomi throughout the story. Ruth was the daughter-in-law of Naomi and when both of their husbands died, Naomi planned to return to Bethlehem where she was originally from and encouraged Ruth to return to her mother’s family. Instead, Ruth answered, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you.
