One would assume, with Maggie being the protagonist, she would be the first character we are introduced to, however, this isn’t the case. In the start we are introduced to one of our main characters. Jimmie. We learn that Jimmie constantly finds himself in trouble with the townspeople. Although he runs and fights with his scraped knees, that doesn’t stop him from being back in the hands of his brutal father. His father, as of sympathy was no word of his vocabulary, would beat the poor urchin with no mercy with all this fighting nonsense. However, his mother was the hell-sent spawn of the Devil compared to his father. A large husky-like woman with an abusive content. Regardless, Maggie and Jimmie make their way out of this household, although, this doesn't mean they escape the wrath of their abusive parents. Maggie grew up to be a pretty, cheerful, girl.
