1. Children of women in the north were more likely to survive than children of women from the south. Longer lives in the northern colonies meant that parents continued to control their children far longer than parents in southern colonies. 2. Many of the slaves were imported in awful conditions and they ended up dying. As the landowners wanted more control over their slaves, then they began to be seen as property. The slaves began to be treated much like indentured servants, until slave codes were created to limit the rights of slaves. Servant slaves had a higher level of luxury, than other slaves. 3. There were many groups that immigrated to North America, such as the French, Germans, and Irish. Some of the reasons for them coming is religious
