The 1960’s was an essential time period for the advancement of the Chicano movement. In this decade, Chicano’s faced discrimination by having little to no rights in the education system and workplace. Many Chicanos did not realize how undervalued they were, and were afraid to speak out about the unfair treatment they faced.
