What You Need To Know When Fishing in The Gulf of Mexico

When someone is fishing in the Gulf of Mexico they need to know what they are doing. There are many different types of creatures that live in the water. Whenever people fish they use different gear or boats or fishing poles it all depends on what they are fishing for and where they are fishing. People need to know what they are doing so that they do not get hurt or mess up. Fishing has a lot of rules but the rules are easy to follow. Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is fun if people make it fun, but it can also be very dangerous. This will tell people what they need to know about fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

When fishing people need to know what equipment does what and if it is good or bad. Some of the most common equipment used by fishermen are fishing poles. There are many different types of fishing poles: Deep sea rods, inshore rods, bamboo rods, spinning rods, fly fishing. Fishing poles are important because people need to use different poles for different types of places and fish. If somebody was going to go fishing for a Red snapper, which is a deep sea fish, the person would use a bigger stronger fishing rod that can handle the fish that does not get away. Some fishing threats: Fish traps, hook and line, crab traps, spears, trawl. These are all harmful things to the creatures that live in the Gulf of Mexico. Not all the time do people use fishing poles they could use things like case nets or traps, and more. Another thing that fishermen need is a boat. People need boats to fish. People own different types of boats for different reasons. One thing is if someone had to go deep sea fishing they would use a bigger and stronger boat that can fight the waves. If someone went fishing inside of the island they would not need a huge boat. The only bad thing about a big boat is that it releases a lot of gas and bad things in the water and that is not good for the creatures. It all depends on what that person likes and what they

Another rule that fishermen have to follow is that they need licenses. One license is a fishing license. People have to get a fishing license when they are sixteen years old. Another license that people have to get is a boat license. They need this to own a boat. When people go fishing they usually travel outside of the starting state that they are in. For example if someone started in Mississippi they would travel to Alabama or Louisiana to go and fish. Fishing is better in different places. Some rules do not apply in different states, for example in Mississippi people have to have a fishing license at the age of sixteen but in Louisiana people only have to be eighteen years old to get a fishing license. So some licenses people need in different states, and others are the same. One thing that does not change is the minimum size of the fish to keep
