Fertilizer is a chemical or natural substance added to soil to enhance its fertility. A fertilizer could be a material of natural or synthetic origin that is applied to soils or direct to plant tissues to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants. Fertilizer is a way to provide nutrients and increase the effectiveness of the soil. Through applying fertilizer could modify and decrease the consumption of water. These fertilizers contain high levels of Nitrogen; these are very effective and important nutrients for plant growth. Other Non-Organic fertilizers that are in much use in agriculture are like Nitrogen fertilizers, Potassium fertilizers, and Phosphorus fertilizers. Nitrogen fertilizers come in several different types, for example, Ammonium Nitrate, Potassium Nitrate, Calcium Nitrate and Urea. These fertilizers have very high levels of nitrogen, which is the most important nutrients for plant growth. However, these Non-Organic fertilizers increase the pH of the soil upon applying, increasing the chances of damaging the seeds. Other fertilizers called Potassium Chloride which is have Potassium Sulfate, Potassium Nitrate, and muriate of potash. The Muriate of potash is the most commonly used Potassium fertilizer. In some cases, plants may be sensitive Chloride. If a plant is sensitive to Chloride, Potassium Sulfate, also known as Sulfate of potash, is a better choice, as it does not contain Chloride. Potassium Nitrate is easy to apply, because it does not pull moisture from the air, but it does slightly increase the pH of the soil upon application. Non-Organic fertilizers cause pollution of groundwater, stripping of soil nutrients, and plant and root burn if utilized improperly.
