Remember that not everyone who smiles at you is your friend. In the play “The Crucible” Written by Arthur Miller, is based on a witchcraft trial in Salem Massachusetts. Abigail Being a young girl is one of the girls who gets possessed by a witch. She wasn’t like you could imagine a little girl, she was different. Everything about her was a mystery you never knew if she was saying the truth or simply being a pathological liar. While your eyes are set on this play and reading along you think that she is a little girl who is just a victim. Abigail had friends but one was her cousin. Her name was Betty. These two girls and the others had been possessed at the same time. While Abigail was being accused of dancing in the woods, she betrayed Betty and said she told Parris everything that had happened. She lied to Parris and told him Betty was the one dancing naked after he had seen someone naked. “I have never sold myself! I’m a good girl! I’m a proper girl! She made me do it! Abigail used to work for the proctor household and was fired because she didn’t want to be any one’s slave. Elizabeth Proctors wife finds out about Abigail’s affair with John and doesn’t accuse her of sleeping with her husband. Abigail wanted to be with proctor, seeing she couldn’t she asked Tituba for help. She had to keep seeing him even though he ended the affair. She didn’t want to be known as a sinner for sleeping with a married man. Abigail thought that she needed to kill Elizabeth. “You did, you did! You drank the charm to kill John Proctors wife! You drank a charm to kill goody Proctor!”. Abigail was selfish she wanted him so bad she didn’t care about accusing any of the other girls and blamed them as well for something she wanted. Of course, she was evil. Nothing ever mattered to her. She wanted to be her and all about her. She always found a way to get what she wanted. She was rude to others and disrespectful. She would order her elders in a mean way. “I say shut it, Mary Warren”. She enjoyed controlling everyone and letting them know she was in charge.
