Innocent or Guilty on Bruno Hauptmann

What struck me about this case was that the baby was found dead not far from the house. I think that the kidnappers just abandoned baby Charles Jr. once they realized he was dead. Bruno Richard Hauptmann was arrested, tried and executed for killing the baby. Although Hauptmann was found with the money,I can’t believe that he acted alone. At the trial, the witnesses were unreliable, the police work was sloppy and the kidnapping was too big of a job for one person. I think Hauptmann helped a group of people, and they were never found.
The witnesses were unreliable. The cab driver said that Bruno Richard Hauptmann did not match with the guy he saw when he delivered the ransom note to Lindbergh. Also Dr. Condon met with the kidnapper at the cemetery. When it came to the police lineup, Condon said it wasn't Bruno .Charles heard him say “over hear Dr.” Charles said it didn't sound like Bruno. The 87-year-old man who had cataracts and said that he saw Bruno Hauptmann with a ladder at the Lindberghs’ house. The ladder Bruno said was bad built. Bruno said if he were to make a ladder it would have been better because he is a carpenter. The first time the police checked Bruno’s house nothing was missing. The next time they checked a piece from the attic was missing and the police said that it was used in the ladder, Bruno’s time card was messed with. He told the police he was working on the day of the kidnapping but the police fiddled with it to make him look guilty. There were footprints in the mud at the Lindberghs’ house in the mud but the police didn’t even bother to look at them they just walked all over them and didn’t think anything about the footprints were important. The police work was very poor they didn’t do what they should have
