Ever wanted to become part of the wealthy class and live a luxurious, and stress free life? F. Scott Fitzgerald shows how that idea of wealth and being stress free is impossible. The novel The Great Gatsby is a novel revolving around five rich individuals and one poorer woman, Tom Buchanan, Daisy Buchanan, Jay Gatsby, Jordan Baker, Nick Carraway, and Myrtle Wilson who is not apart of the rich class. Many conflicts arise in this book due to the greed of money and some of these actions lead onto death and deception of love. The conflicts arise between Gatsby's love with Daisy and the affairs between Tom and his mistress, Myrtle.
Even Daisy and her daughter didn’t seem to be a true relationship. However Nick and Gatsby are truly friends. Even though Nick said he disapproved of Gatsby, beginning to end, he didn’t really disapprove of Gatsby, just his shady dealing on how he got his start. But as a person, Nick wholeheartedly was with Gatsby. Nick knew he was a good person.
When he learns from Jordan that Gatsby likes his cousin Daisy he agrees to invite Daisy over so that Gatsby can reunite with her. Not knowing much about Gatsby, except snippets of details from Jordan and a few encounters with him, Nick seems to like him. He agrees to arrange for Daisy and Gatsby to meet, because Jordan tells him he is “just supposed to invite her for tea” (p. 85). Something about being told what he is “supposed to” do ignites the sidekick in Nick and begins his time helping Gatsby. Fitzgerald highlights Nick’s fondness of Gatsby to connect he and Daisy.
There are two words that properly describe Mr. Jay Gatsby; a phony and charismatic person. Gatsby has a very strong personality and will not give up on his so called “American Dream”. However, nobody knows the real Gatsby, not even Nick Caraway at first who later we see as Gatsby’s one and only true friend. Jay Gatsby is a man in his mid-thirties who lives a more or less of an extravagant life which he is financing by the great deal of money he miraculously came about in some way that nobody is for certain of. In all reality nobody knows much about him at all, they only know him from the extravagant, lavish parties that he throws in hopes that one day his true love, Daisy will show up.
So, Nick becomes a companion and ally to Gatsby, advising him, encouraging him, and most of all, reuniting him with his long-lost love, Daisy Buchanan. Overall, Nick has a great love and compassion for Gatsby because he admires both

Daisy is a very complex character in The Great Gatsby. She was once a poor girl who was naive and longed for true love, but as the plot progresses, she reveals her selfishness and worship of money. I was attracted to Daisy because the personality of the character reflects the nature of human beings, and the selection criteria of most people, not moral or immoral, but which one can maximize their own interests, made me think a lot about human nature. At the beginning of the book, when Nick first met Daisy, he felt Daisy's hypocrisy: “The instant her voice broke off, ceasing to compel my attention, my belief, I felt the basic insincerity of what she had said.
