The Gainesville Murders were a popular case that involved plain view searches. Five students in Gainesville were murdered from a stabbing. There was a lot of controversy surrounding this case and how evidence was obtained. Danny H. Rolling, who was sentenced to the murder of these five students, believed that evidence was obtained in an unlawful way. Mr. Rolling also believed that he was wronged in countless ways during his trial.
In July 1979, Gary Dotson was convicted of aggravated kidnapping and rape of a young woman in 1977. He was sentenced to not less than twenty-five and not more than fifty years. Many years after Dotson’s conviction, the victim recanted her testimony because she didn’t want anyone to know about a sexual encounter with her boyfriend so she fabricated the rape. Once the victim recanted her testimony, Dotson contended that the recantation constituted grounds to vacate the original sentence and he should be awarded a new trial. In 1987, the governor agreed to grant Dotson his last chance at parole.

I know that Mrs. Verbermockle assassinated Mr. Verbermockle based on the evidence I have collected at the scene. A few pieces of evidence stood out to me, for instance, the angle of the body, the item in his hand, and the “her” towel was used, these are just some examples of why I conclude that Mrs. Verbermockle murdered her husband, Mr. Verbermockle. I noticed there was heel footprints which appear to be leading out of the shower to where Mr. Verbermockle’s body was located. I can conclude from this piece of evidence that a female has been in the room because women wear high heels. Who wears heels in the shower?
