Gladstone was born Cree but adopted in by a blood reserve. Then born to the blackfoot nation. Gladstone was in a Anglican Mission school till 1903. Then he was moved to a Indian Industrial school in calgary. And appointed to become a apprenticed printer. After leaving school in 1905 Gladstone traveled back to the reserve to become an interpreter. Gladstone also found jobs were he would wrangle cattle. In 1911 Gladstone found a job as mounted police for scouting and also worked as a mail carrier. Gladstone finally settled down and became a farmer with his two sons trying to raise 400 pounds
