Welcome to the kingdom of Babylon in ancient Mesopotamia! Babylon was one of the most essential kingdoms needed in Mesopotamia. King Hammurabi ruled Babylon during the first dynasty and he’s known to be the sixth thing. During King Hammurabi’s ruling, he has accomplished many achievements. Some of King Hammurabi’s greatest achievements during his life span were that when he ruled, that was when the first dynasty had reached its greatest height. Another one of his best achievements would be his establishment of the code of Hammurabi.

Before we get into some of Hammurabi’s greatest accomplishments during his lifetime, let’s start with some background information about him. First off, Hammurabi was born in 1810 BC in Babylon; he was born being the sixth king of the very First Babylonian Dynasty. According to the middle chronology, “the chronology of the Near Eastern Bronze and Early Iron Age” (Harper) Hammurabi ruled from 1792 BC to 1750 BC. Before Hammurabi began to rule Babylon, his father Sin-Muballit had died from failing health, which caused Hammurabi to take over for his father.
