Alphonsus Capone or Scarface was one of the most notorious gangsters of the 1920's and 1930's. He is most well-known for the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre. Capone started off as bartender in Brooklyn working for Frankie Yale and later became the boss of one of the most successful mobs in Chicago. He headed the organized crime gang called the "Chicago Outfit. " Capone was one of the most successful mobsters; he headed one of the largest organized crime gangs and managed to never get involved in the crime himself.
To begin with, the story revolves around the life of Louis Zamperini, meaning he is the protagonist in this novel. Louis goes through his hardships, as well as at a certain point described as a hero that is quite often found in the protagonist. Moreover, the novel also has an antagonist, which is perceived as Mutsuhiro Watanabe. Watanabe was seen as a villain due to his actions against Louis and the other prisoners-of-war, which consequently qualifies the requirements for the antagonist. Their morals are typically flawed in regards to societal norms.
When people hear the name “Al Capone”, they usually don’t associate it with a hero. However, various acts carried out by the 1930’s mobster, such as opening soup kitchens for the poor, led some to call him a modern day Robin Hood. This being said, Al’s violent and illegal ways cannot be ignored, making Al Capone a tragic hero. A tragic hero is a person or character who has positive intentions, yet has a tragic flaw that ultimately leads to their downfall. Although Al Capone was born in rough conditions, and grew into the notorious mobster that he was, he also should be remembered for all of the good that he did for the world.

One day, Vito is out buying oranges at a local market when 2 armed men shoot him 5 times, wounding but not killing him. He ends up in the hospital and because of his condition his older son Santino has to take over temporarily.

As a result, The Godfather ends up becoming a successful blockbuster, but it’s also artistic, and reflective of our society. The Godfather caters to both casual and critical audiences. Coppola uses graphic violence to draw in casual viewers, but he draws in critical viewers by having the film become a social critique of society. Auteur films are meant to give us a view of the world. In addition, the film draws parallels between the mafia and the police, by essentially stating that our society is corrupt.
This was life for the citizens in Chicago, everyone was kept in constant fear for their lives if they ever crossed Capone. The Federal Government knew they had to control the violent city of Chicago by eliminating the Gaffron 2 criminal that was behind it all, Al Capone. This is when our heroes enter, The Untouchables. In the movie, The Untouchables were a team assembled by Federal Treasury Officer, Eliot Ness, to help combat the massacres by mobsters in Chicago. The Federal Ban of alcohol (prohibition) led to an illegal market for liquor and in turn, more crime.
