Should Pete Rose be in the Hall of Fame?
It all went down hill when he started gambling. But his major league debut started on April 8, 1963. After exceeding the rookie expectations in 1963 he won the ROY (Rookie of the Year) award. Pete Rose or Peter Edward Rose Sr. loved to gamble, but beforehand he was mostly known for his baseball skills. Although Pete Rose gambled he was one of the best hitters of all time. He played a lot of positions and had an immaculate career with one of the best statistics in baseball.
Pete Rose played many positions. Playing many positions helped him out because it lets him be on the field more. These opportunities led him to get more at bats, which helped him get the hit record. Most players strive to get 2,000 hits in a major league career, but in some cases 2,000 was easy. After 17 long seasons, Rose retired with 4,256 hits. Despite the gambling he was know to be the “hit king.” He ended his career with 4,256 total hits in the Majors. Other records he owns seem to go hand in hand with having a record for plate appearances in which he had 15,890 under his belt. He also became the first ever player to 500 games at five different positions. It is almost impossible to get 4,256 hits in a career. By playing the amount of games he made it possible.
