In Dante's inferno Dante has now made it to circle 2 where the lustful are condemn. Upon his arrival he encounters Minos, Minos is the the judge of of the souls that arrive in hell he is the one who divides what circle they will be punished in for the sins they committed in their lifetime. Minos spots Dante leaves his office and walks up to him he is intrigued by Dantes human presence in the underworld " O thou, that to his comest/ look how thou enterest,and in whom thou trustest let not the the portal's amplitude deceive thee."(Inferno:Canto V lines 16-22) Minos is warning him about the people he will encounter through his journey through the infernos he tells him to be careful with who trusts and not allow anyone to fool him they are in hell for a …show more content…
As the conversation continues Virgil realizes that Dante is falling in Francesca's manipulative ways. France's then goes on to mention and try to justify why she is In the inferno she begins to blame a book and someone else's love story of her actions she is manipulating Dante and trying to make him feel guilty she was lustful person in life and in death. "Love,that one gentle heart doath swiftly seize, seized the man for the person beautiful that was ta'en from me, and sill the mode offends me. Love that exempts no one beloveds from loving, sized with the pleasure of the this man so strongly that, as thou seest, it doth not yet deserted me; love has conducted us unto one death" (Inferno Canto V lines 100-106) Francesca is implying that she is not ashamed of what she did she blames love for her mistakes and even though she is suffering for her what she did she is with him and they are still in love.
