2. Descartes’ Evil Genius/Demon Rene Descartes once thought that Mathematics represented the foundation of everything. He thought it couldn’t be questioned. We couldn’t question 2+2=4. Mathematics was universally accepted study and was considered the “truth”, we could always rely on . But Descartes found a way to question even the basics of mathematics. He believed we must question everything, that can be questioned. This is the only way to eliminate all false facts and information people believed in. Our senses can be fooled, by the phenomenons of nature and physics. So we cannot ever really trust our senses. We might be living this life, but how do we know we’re not dreaming the whole thing? Or we’re not just a brain in a vat. And there is a evil scientist who is performing experiments on our brain and forcing us to believe that we exist. Best part is, even if some tells us that we’re a brain in vat, we will never believe them. And this is how the evil scientist always wins.
