The story of Romeo and Juliet is a popular narrative, but have you ever wondered what eventually led to their deaths or what set off the series of events that led to their deaths? Love unites Romeo and Juliet. Romeo fell in love when he first saw Juliet, and she felt the same way about him. Their families were a significant factor for keeping them away, and the fact that they were not star-crossed lovers kept them apart, yet they would not give up. Friar Laurence was a major factor in Romeo and Juliet's demise because of the poor choices he caused them to make, the haste in which the plan had been carried out, and his running away. Their can be very many reasons why friar lawrence made their death happen but one of them is him rushing them to move on with the plan faster. When friar Lawrence was going through with his plan he said ¨ Let not the nurse lie with thee in thy chamber. Take thou this vial, being then in bed, And this distilling liquor drink thou off. Shall keep his native progress, but surcease.(Shakespeare 4.1. 120)¨ He said this as he was giving Juliet the potion,that point in time was the point of the start of Romeo getting closer to his death. He made a very big mistake giving Juliet that poison and then when he states ¨Come, come away. Among a sisterhood of holy nuns. Stay not to question, for the watch is coming. I dare no longer stay.(Shakespeare 5.3. 185-187).At the point of him saying this was all a part of the plan until there was no communication the friar Lawrence made between Juliet and Romeo because of him scouring away.
