In the play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the two teenage lovers fell for each other, however, Romeo’s flaw led to their death. Romeo’s flaw was his impulsiveness and urge to jump to conclusions. He acted upon himself to commit suicide rather than letting fate take its path to eventually lead them to be future lovers. Furthermore, Romeo had a big impact on their deaths because of his way of believing he would be able to fix the problem rather than putting it in fates hands. He acts on emotion instead of reason. Romeo’s flaw plays a major role in Romeo and Juliet’s tragedy because of his impulsive actions leading to the couple's devastating death ultimately leading to the end of the feud.
In the play, Romeo’s good friend, Mercutio, is killed by Tybalt who is Juliet’s cousin. Romeo then seeks out revenge against Tybalt. Without thinking he kills Tybalt causing him to be banished from Verona. This shows how he does not think about the consequences but acts on the emotions he is feeling at the moment. This signifies how Romeo’s flaw influenced the death of both himself and Juliet. His impulsiveness and recklessness had an affect on him choosing his decisions on events that had occurred. Romeo and Juliet, had full control of their destiny not fate. They reacted wrongly towards the consequences of them falling in love. They were two young teenagers that believed if they did not live their lives together that life would not be the same leading to them giving up on everything and taking their lives.
