Tybalt and Benvolio Have you ever envisioned dying because of your friend? The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare ends with both Romeo and Juliet dying in the end. Benvolio, Romeo’s best friend, has such a persuasive attitude throughout the play, and encourages Romeo throughout many of his important decisions. A major decision Benvolio encourages Romeo to make was going to the Capulet's party where he met Juliet. Tybalt, Romeo’s enemy and Juliet’s cousin, has always gotten into fights with Romeo. Romeo eventually killed Tybalt and was banished from the city. Tybalt and Benvolio had a huge impact in Romeo and Juliet’s love journey throughout the play, which eventually led to their deaths. Romeo and Benvolio are best friends, and are both Montagues. Benvolio is responsible for their deaths because he often pushes Romeo to make his bad and irrational decisions. In the beginning, Benvolio mentions to Romeo the idea of him finding a new lover to get over Rosaline. Romeo ends up going to the party and falling in love as soon as he sees Juliet. This moment sets up the entire play. If Benvolio never convinced Romeo to go to the party, Romeo would have never fallen in love with Juliet, and their lives would not have ended in tragic death. An example of this is the feud between the Montague and Capulet families. Because of this, the families were supposed to hate each other and never cross paths. It’s hard for them to be publically in love and together. However, Benvolio and Tybalt had the greatest impacts on their deaths.
