Acting before thinking also known as being impulsive will end in a bad outcome. William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is an example and shows how acting impulsively can have a bad outcomes. The main character Romeo is a young innocent man at first, but as the story continues he finds himself acting before thinking he slowly is leading himself to his terrible fate. Romeo shows his impulsiveness by his love life, his emotion immaturity and his reaction towards conflict.
One of Romeo's problem is that he does not know what actual love is. He is first in love with a girl named Rosline. Later he finds out that Roseline want to remain chaste. He then hears that Roseline will be going to a party. Even though the party is being host by a Capulet,

He hasn’t fully matured yet, so he doesn’t know how to handle situation properly therefor he cannot control his emotion maturely. The first time Romeo did not know how to control his emotion is when he finds out that Roseline wants to remain chaste. When he hears this, he is sad and depressed. He shows this when his cousin Benvolio comes and talks to him. Benvolio greets him, and Romeo says, "Ay me, sad hour seem long."(I.i.156). Ay me is a sigh word and he is saying that the day feels so long because he is sad even though it is 9 in the morning. This was the first time Romeo shows his immaturity of emotions. Later during the story Romeo is banished from Verona as a punishment. Since he is banished this means he cannot be with Juliet. When flair Lawrence tells him this Romeo says "Ha, banishment? Be merciful say 'death'."(iii.iii.12). He is saying that there is no difference between being banished and death because if he cannot be with Juliet he rather be dead. He is being immature because he wants to hill himself over a girl, Romeo being Romeo if he were to find another girl that is beautiful he would instantly fall in love like previously. This shows how Romeo is immature and doesn’t know how to control his emotions
