1. When I first began reading this piece of work I knew I was going to enjoy it! The reason for this was because it reminded me of Romeo and Juliet! I also realized that this story was told in the third person through an unknown person as the narrator. I also realized that towards the middle it got a bit confusing for me that sometimes I had to take a minute and go back to assure I understood everything.

In Hamlet, Hamlet has many foil characters for his many character flaws. Fortinbras and Laertes foil Hamlet, displaying his flaws to the point where Hamlet himself becomes aware of his own flaws. Claudius, however, foils Hamlets showing a good characteristic that Hamlet had taken too far and ushered him to his death.

Helena is crazily in love with Demetrius, whereas he thinks Helena is a bit strange. Although Demetrius is completely in love with Hermia and is always mean and rude to Helena, most of the time Helena is all over him, in order to get his attention. Helena always says that Hermia is more beautiful than her and that is the reason why Demetrius is deeply in love with Hermia. The song You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift represents clearly how Helena feels about Demetrius and Hermia, and the way Hermia treats Demetrius.
In his play, Twelfth Night, William Shakespeare has his characters participate in the practice of deception and dishonesty of others - after all, the foundation of Shakespeare’s play resides within a lie. One of the major deceptions in the play is executed by the Illyrian countess, Olivia, as she repeatedly claims to need solitude to mourn her brother’s death in order to avoid Duke Orsino and his obsession towards her. This deception contributes to the meaning of the work as a whole by adding the thematic message, deception and dishonesty is sometimes the better option when it comes to love. From the beginning of the play, Olivia is introduced as the grieving countess that has recently lost a brother.

Going back to Old English, cool’s cognates come from German and Dutch backgrounds as the familiar adjective to describe weather, which dates back to the ninth century (Harper). Temperature metaphors begin to emerge while the tenth century progresses, and by the sixteenth century cool evolves into an adjective to describe a person’s demeanor, suggesting calmness and rationality (Vuolo). I believe these two plays compliment each other in many ways and Richard II is more appealing to an audience of college students and would be a more appropriate pairing with A Midsummer Night’s Dream (AMND) than Henry IV Part I. College students would enjoy Richard II in tandem with AMND because of the similar themes of love and power in the plays. Also because of the unique characters each play has. If a group of performers at Central Michigan University were to do both of these shows, the audience would get love and comedy in AMND and tragedy and history in Richard II. This is very important because all of the genres of Shakespeare’s plays are identified

He is an incautious fairy that will do whatever it takes to get the Changeling boy from Titania, and enjoys the company of his servant Puck.
