The enlightenment period was a time where philosophers in the 17th century and 18th century stood up against the government. They went on to do stuff with their lives, that will change our world. They refused to listen and make people think on their own. They are the forefathers of our governments. Thomas Hobbes was born in 1588, When he grew older he became a philosopher and political theorist. In the year of 1651 he had wrote a book called the “Leviathans” which had kicked of the the enlightenment in England. In his book he had said that every human are supposedly selfish and evil. He thought monarch was the greatest form of government because it was a single all powerful king or queen. With these thoughts, it helped legitimate governments.
