Thomas Jefferson was born in 1743 to an elite farming family in Virginia. Thomas Jefferson did not attend school until he was the age of 9. He attended a private school and studied Math, Greek, Literature and Classical Language. He then attended the college of William and Mary in Williamsburg in 1760 but was disappointed in the level of education there. Jefferson the looked towards his older scholars to teach him what the other college could not. Jefferson was really interested in farming so he invented a plow to help farmers dig into the dirt deeper and help prevent erosion. Another farming device he invented was the iron plow.
