Who Is To Blame For Romeo And Juliet's Death

Romeo and Juliet is a timeless tragedy written by the famous playwright, William Shakespeare. In the play two families, the Capulets and the Montagues, have been feuding for as long as anyone could remember, but recently the violence has reached a new level that not only affect the families but the citizens of Verona too. The son of the Montagues’, Romeo, and the daughter of the Capulets’, Juliet, met at a party and instantly fell in love. Their love was beautiful, but forbidden because of the feud. Their love sadly came to a sudden end, due to a series of unfortunate events throughout the well known play. The two star crossed lovers took their own lives’, because of a misunderstanding. Even though Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their own deaths, who was really to blame behind this tragedy? The family feud stopped either side from communicating with the other, this doesn’t mean there was an exception for their children. Because of the feud when the two meet they have to hide their love, but if there was no feud they never had to. Romeo and Juliet had to keep their love a secret for most of the plot line because of the rising tension between the families. The feud forced their marriage to be a secret. The only characters who know of the wedding are Juliet’s nurse and Friar Lawrence; this is because with their help the couple are able to successfully get married, but that happiness didn’t last long. When Romeo realizes that he is falling in love with a Capulet, he exclaims, “Is she a Capulet? Oh dear account! My life is in my foe’s debt” (Shakespeare 1.5.117-188).
