In the Christian religion, the book of Genesis is the tellings of the creation of the earth, and the fall of humanity. The creator, God, takes the nothingness that was in place of the earth and made it into Earth and everything in it (“Genesis” 44). The creation of Earth was a process that was said to take place over six days. Light and darkness were created on day one, water and sky on day two (“Genesis” 44), land and vegetation on day three, the sun, moon and stars on day four, birds and sea creatures were created on the fifth day, and the rest of the land creatures were created on the sixth day (“Genesis” 45). God needed somebody who could take care of the land and all that was on it, so he took dust from the earth and formed it into man. …show more content…

One article that I came across brought up a point I wouldn’t thought of myself, but it makes a great point for the argument.
“The fruit of the forbidden tree grants humanity the knowledge of right and wrong. That means before they ate from the tree, they did not know what was right and what was wrong. So if there was anything wrong about eating the fruit, then all the fault should fall on the creator, not the beings that don’t understand right or wrong yet (Marck).”
Only after eating from the tree would they know that what they have done is something bad. Expecting Adam and Eve to know the gravity of the situation without giving them the knowledge to know when something is bad is like giving a baby rat poisoning and expecting that they won’t put it in their mouth and try to eat it. The number one way you could prevent the baby from eating the rat poisoning is to not give it to the baby to begin with. The same thing goes for Adam and Eve. If God were to have put the tree of knowledge in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, or would have put a barrier around it to make it impossible for them to get to, they would have never been able to have eaten from the tree. One side is the proud creator of the heavens and Earth who proud of what he has made, and only sees good. We also see a harsh and destructive side. The harsh and destructive side is very prominent in the story of Adam and Eve and in the story of the flood. In the story of Adam and Eve, God is the one to blame for what happened, not Adam and Eve. God starts off by lying to Adam and Eve then severely punishes the two of them for something that in all reality, they had no control over. The Harshness then continues in the story of the flood by giving mankind no warning and no chance to change. God abruptly decides to completely wipe out mankind. There are better ways that God could have chosen to take care of the issues that were at
