Who Killed Benny Paret Rhetorical Analysis

219 Words1 Pages
In the essay “Who Killed Benny Paret?,” the author discusses multiple ways the boxer Benny Paret could have been killed. He says that it could have been the ref not acting in time to stop the fight, the doctor who did his physical; maybe he approved Benny when he should not have been approved, or maybe it was the manager who might have wanted Benny to just jump back in the ring without a full recovery from his last fight. All of these suggestions seem reasonable, but they are not the cause of his death. None of those people specifically killed Benny; therefore it is not their fault that he has passed, even if the previous accusations are true. The author then says that it is the punch and the impact of the punch to the head that killed Benny.
