There has never been a story so sad and terrible like the story Romeo and Juliet, but the reason for all the sadness was Friar Lawrence. As the judge I have decided that Friar Lawrence should be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, written by Shakespeare, Friar Lawrence should be blamed because he acted inappropriately by devising a plan, he encouraged them to continue on seeing each other, and he never told the families about their children’s suicidal tendencies. Friar Lawrence acted inappropriately when he devised a plan to get Juliet to fake her death and run away. This is shown in Act 4 Scene 1 when Friar Lawrence says, “ When you're in bed, take this vial, mix it’s contents with liquor, and drink.
Juliet, very young and irresponsible, leaving Friar Lawrence's good intentions to lead to the misfortune in Shakespeare’s play. One reason why Friar Lawrence is reliable for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet is because leading up to
the Friar gave Juliet a potion. The potion was going to put Juliet to sleep for 48 hours and it will look like she is dead, everyone will think she is dead but Friar Lawrence, he did not tell Romeo of his plan which was the biggest flaw in the plan. That is the biggest reason why Friar Lawrence is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and
Though it can be argued that Romeo is the main cause of Romeo and Juliet's death, Friar Lawrence could also be at fault for this tragedy because of his recklessness and involvement. However, Friar Lawrence ultimately is not the main cause of their deaths because it was Romeo's irrational thinking that got him and Juliet killed. Romeo makes many bad decisions that lead to his death. He kills Tybalt which results in him being banned from Verona. This results in him not knowing about the plan.
However, when Romeo sees her seemingly dead, he drinks poison to kill himself. Shortly afterwards, Juliet wakes up only to find Romeo dead, and consequently, she kills herself too. However, this tragedy cannot entirely be blamed on Romeo and Juliet. There were many causes: Friar Lawrence, Romeo, and Juliet, along with fate, and
The church official, Friar Lawrence, is most involved in Romeo and Juliet’s relationship which makes him most responsible for their deaths. Friar Lawrence is guilty of the
The most responsible character for Romeo and Juliet's deaths was Friar Laurence because he didn’t even really care about the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. He made many plans for their relationship. However it didn’t work out because of his mistakes and selfishness for marrying Romeo and Juliet quickly and it ended in a dire way. Friar Lawrence left Juliet alone in the tomb, which directly led to her death. “Come,
I believe that The Feud, Friar Lawrence and Tybalt all play a role in Romeo and Juliet's death. The Feud between the families was quite major and with Romeo (a Montague) and Juliet (a Capulet) falling in the love, it made it even worse. The families of Romeo and Juliet didn't support their love and if there wasn't a feud between the Montague's and Capulet's, Friar Lawrence wouldn't have had to create a plan to hide their marriage. Friar Lawrence played a big role in Romeo and Juliet's relationship and his actions ultimately lead to the death of the two. He marries the two behind their families back, creates a potion for Juliet to fake her death and fled Juliet at her tomb, where she then killed herself.
The second character responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death is Romeo himself. Romeo is responsible for Juliet and his death because he makes rash decisions without thinking things through. At the beginning of Act Ⅲ, Mercutio and Tybalt get into a fight and Mercutio dies. Romeo avenge Mercutio's death by slaining Tybalt. The Prince of Verona has a rule that whoever kills or starts the fight, they will receive punishment.
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, there are many characters who are responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet but Friar Lawrence is the character that is most responsible for their death. Juliet is a beautiful 13-year-old Capulet. Romeo is a handsome 16-year-old Montague. Their story takes place in the 14th century in Verona, Italy. The Montague and the Capulet families don’t like each other.
Juliet was at fault for her and Romeo’s death because she stabbed herself. Due to Juliet’s “untimely death,” Romeo poisoned himself, thinking that she was dead. When Juliet woke up and found Romeo dead, she took Romeo’s dagger and stabbed herself. ”This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me die”(V.III.170). These were Juliet’s last words before she stabbed herself with the dagger of the man she had driven to poisoning himself.
Friar Lawrence was the one to blame throughout the entire story. Although Friar Lawrence was just trying to help throughout the whole story, he was just causing problems that led to Romeo and Juliets death. The one problem was just miscommunication between Friar Lawrence, Friar John, and Romeo. “Who bar my letter, then, to Romeo?”(S.S, pg. 470).
There are a lot of people who are to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death but the most obvious one is Tybalt. Tybalt was lady Capulet’s nephew and Juliet’s cousin. Tybalt was also a troublemaker and hated the Montagues. To support that, “What, drawn, and talk of peace? I hate the word as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee.
Tybalt always wanted to fight Romeo. Tybalt and Mercutio get into a fight because of some upsetting words Tybalt said. In the fight Tybalt kills Mercutio, which get Romeo upset. Then Romeo kills Tybalt, which gets him banished form Verona, Italy. So the long-standing family feuding and fate are the cause of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.
Tybalt hated Romeo because he was a Montague. Though Tybalt especially hated Romeo because of his affection towards Juliet. Once Friar married Romeo to Juliet, Romeo becomes more comfortable around the Capulets, he tried to talk to Tybalt and tells Tybalt he loves him, which just made Tybalt angrier, leading him to kill Mercutio. After the death of Mercutio, Romeo killed Tybalt out of frustration for Tybalt being able to live and Mercutio dead. If Romeo would have been more careful around Tybalt the fight that led to the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt would have not occurred.
