Romeo and Juliet There are many people and things responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy, which means that there is a tragic hero with a tragic flaw. In this case Romeo is the tragic hero and his tragic flaw is his impetuosity. This caused Romeo and Juliet to fall in love and get married very fast, the killing of Tybalt, and him buying the potion and rushing to kill himself after he found out the news that Juliet was dead. His quickness to fall in love led to the rapid and intense love between him and Juliet. “Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night Like a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear--Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!” (Act 1, Scene 5). This quote is showing how Romeo instantly fell in love with Juliet and forgot about Rosaline once he saw Juliet. “I take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized. Henceforth I never will be Romeo.” (Act 2, Scene 2). Romeo then is willing to change his name for her and wants to marry her after hours of knowing her. This quote shows that he is quick to act and not think about what he is doing at the moment. This is part of his major flaw because this shows that he does things impulsively, which in the end results in Juliet and himself dying. Tybalt and Mercutio dying is a factor resulting in their death because when he dies the families feud becomes more intense. This also results in Romeo getting banished, which then leads to Romeo thinking Juliet is dead, and in the end results in their
