Those Responsible for The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet has always had some odd elements written into it. The infamous play written by William Shakespeare is masterfully written and does a superb job at sending a message. The star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet paid the ultimate price for their love in the beloved story. The ending of the story has resulted in Romeo and Juliet being remembered as one of the greatest tragedies ever written. However the fact that the two lovers committed suicide, their untimely deaths were ultimately caused by Nurse and Friar Lawerence. The feud between the Montagues and Capulets is what many believe to have been at fault for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. This is due to the fact that the feud forced them to lie about their marriage, which also can be blamed for Tybalt’s and Mercutio’s deaths. The nurse’s willingness to go along with the schemes that Romeo and Juliet were involved with was dangerous. While doing so isn’t inherently dangerous, in the long-term allowing Romeo and Juliet to advance their relationship in part got them killed. Furthermore, Nurse could have possibly talked Juliet out of having a relationship with Romeo. Juliet would trust her opinion, and the argument that a Montague and Capulet can’t mix is quite strong. Along with that, Nurse eventually tries to do exactly that, but it is too late and it just upsets Juliet without solving anything. In the text Juliet says, “ That damned old lady!
