One day that will always be remembered by America is the date of December 7, 1941, which changed American history forever. December 7, 1941 was the day the Japanese warplanes attacked Pearl Harbor (Hawaii) which stationed many of American ships and airfields. Immediately after the bombings, United States President Franklin Roosevelt declared war on Japan, leading to a direct involvement into World War ll. Japan had many reason to do so but Japan attacked Pearl harbor for three reasons which were that they had a plan for a new world order, United States were expanding their number of naval ships rapidly, and an oil embargo was placed upon Japan
However Japan was responsible for attack on Pearl Harbor. 9/11 and the attack on Pearl Harbor are similar because they were both terrorist attacks. They were both surprise attacks. Both of these attacks were unprovoked. Besides all of these similarities they also have differences.
Considering the conflicts with Asia, the attack on Pearl Harbor was not surprising. The United States provoked the Japanese into doing the attack because of an embargo. Petroleum and metal were two resources that Japan did not have enough of. The United States received knowledge that Japan wanted to attack but just didn’t get to the issue in time. Japan was very dependent on the Americans, the two met on two different occasions to try and settle the dispute, but neither of them were willing to compromise.
In conclusion, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor because of their nationalist mentality, America’s embargo of oil to Japan and fearing that the United States will attack them first. The first reason why Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor was because the Japanese had nationalistic and narcissistic political mentality. The Japanese believed the Yamato race was a superior race to the other Asian race(Document A). They also believed they will become the “new order” once Europe and America crumble and become the “old orders”(Document A).
The Pearl Harbor bombing took place on December 7, 1941. This horrible tragedy was committed by the Japanese. In 1942, the United States government ordered many Japanese Americans/ Aliens to leave their homes hastily and was detained in remote, military-style camps. They were frightened and unaided due to their indefinite incarceration by the Americans shortly after Pearl Harbor was bombed.
From that point on, it was a series of misstep after misstep that led Japan to the shores of Hawaii that December morning. Japan's money driven leaders blinded them from seeing the future impacts of their decisions. It was not entirely their fault, early action on the part of the United States would have made Pearl Harbor nothing more than a bad dream. It was foolish to even think that the U.S. could pass severe legislation against Japan and walk out unscathed. The fact of the matter is that Pearl Harbor was clearly a preventable occurrence.
My book “Pearl Harbor (Turning Points of World War II)” by William E. Shapiro discusses the history of Japanese-American relations from the early nineteenth century until the outbreak of war and describes the diplomatic and political events which preceded the bombing. While the main event spoken of in the book is Pearl Harbor many other events occurred before, along with, and after it, such as, the United States annexed Hawaii, Japan annexes Korea, Japanese attacks Pearl Harbor, United States declares war on Japan then later on Germany and Italy, atomic bombs being dropped, and Japan surrendering. A sum of those chronological events, would be that the attack on pearl harbor located in Hawaii, which was annexed by the U.S., caused the U.S.
Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor is by far one of America’s most remembered events in history. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese dropped bombs on the American base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. This attack is what persuaded President Franklin Roosevelt to join World War 2 and fight on two fronts. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor for many reasons. They attacked because they believed they would create a New World Order, they felt threatened by America and because of the oil embargo.
Pearl Harbor. Everyone’s heard it. The Japanese bombed Oahu. The impact was humongous. Suspicion arose, and suddenly, everyone of Japanese descent was a spy for the enemy.

This was because everyone in America was caught by complete surprise. Doing things by surprise is a common thing, but brings out the worse in everyone. When this happened, there were over 3,000 U.S. Casualties, over 300 U.S. Aircraft damaged/destroyed, and over 20 U.S. Ships damaged/destroyed. This was also a big reason for the A-bomb because it was unnecessary for Japan to kill so many American lives and property, all because they were upset that former president Franklin D. Roosevelt interfered with Japan’s internal affairs. If that was their main reason, they could have figured some thing out through words, not actions like this one, It was necessary for the dropping of the Atomic bomb because the attack on Pearl Harbor needed to be payed back.

President Harry Truman gave an executive order in 1945 to drop to atomic bombs in popular downtown cities in Japan. With the guidance of many scientists and political leaders President Truman made the extremely tough decision to drop the bombs. After listening to arguments from both sides President Truman came to the conclusion that dropping bombs would be the best thing to do for this war. It would also show that the United States had an extreme military power. Many American politicians were for the idea of dropping the bomb, because they believed that it was the only way to end the war and get Japan to surrender.
For the attack, Japan split their attack into two waves, each of which would have different targets. (World War II in Europe) Japan had also modified their torpedo bombs so that they could still work in shallow waters. (Van Der Vat, pg. 86) The attack would include a total of four hundred twenty-three planes, and would last approximately two hours.
