They are able to use the differentiation strategy, because Whole Foods is focused on selling organic food, which can be considered unique because eventually this type of food is not very common. The intention is that customers will value the high quality of the organic food and end up paying a high price. Also, Whole Foods Market nurtures customer loyalty by providing unique products. For example, Whole Foods features “foods that are free of artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners, and hydrogenated fats.” Also, Whole Foods has implemented animal welfare standards.
